Legislative Hearing Notice 

The Marshville Town Council will hold a legislative hearing on Monday March 4, 2024, at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall, located at 118 E. Union Street, Marshville, NC 28103, and online with the Zoom platform.  The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comment on the following rezoning petition, requested by the Marshville Planning & Zoning Administrator:

RZA-23-03: proposed zoning text amendment to make changes to Article 17 (“Signs”) of the Marshville Development Ordinance (MDO) intended to provide a greater degree of flexibility in establishing maximum dimensions for wall-mounted signs in highway commercial (C-74) and industrial (IND) zoning districts.   The proposed changes would establish maximum sign sizes at a maximum of 10 percent of the square footage of the facades of the buildings upon which the signs are to be attached (currently the maximum size is 32 square feet irrespective of building façade size). 

The public is invited to either attend the hearing in person and comment on the proposed changes or to participate via Zoom.  Citizens participating via Zoom will not be able to provide comments which can only be done in person.  Zoom log-in instructions can be found on the Marshville Town website and the Marshville Town Facebook page.  The rezoning notice can be found on the Marshville Town website at www.marshville.org under Boards & Committees/Planning Board/News & Announcements.
