Board of Adjustment
The Marshville Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body that is tasked with hearing and rendering decision on a variety of planning and zoning issues, including applications for:
- variances from the development rules contained within the Marshville Development Ordinance,
- appeals from a decision rendered by the Town Planning and Zoning Administrator,
- issuance of Special Use Permits as required by the Development Ordinance, and
- appeals for decisions relating to the town's watershed, storm water and flood damage requirements.
Five members of the Board of Adjustment are appointed by Marshville Town Council while two are appointed by the Union County Board of Commissioners upon recommendation of the Town Council.
The Board of Adjustment meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Marshville Town Hall at 7:00pm, on an as-needed basis. These are public meetings and members of the community are welcome to attend.
